Joy Tang's Markable is adding new AI creation tools for the creator-commerce market, giving influencers and online sellers a faster way to turn product ideas into shoppable content without relying on a full production team.

The Seattle company announced on 4 August that it has launched an advanced Video Editor and 3D Product Collages, alongside a refreshed brand identity. Markable describes itself as an AI-powered operating system for creator commerce. The company says the new tools are designed to help creators move from raw idea to content that can convert, while still building from real product data rather than generic AI output.

The timing is important because social commerce is becoming a larger share of retail spending. Markable cited eMarketer projections that U.S. social commerce sales will pass $100 billion in 2026, while the broader creator economy is expected to exceed $1 trillion within the decade. Those numbers are not only platform trivia. They show why software that helps creators manage product links, messaging, videos, paid traffic and storefronts is becoming operating infrastructure for small media businesses.

Tang is the founder focus for this SheMeansNews pack. Markable says she is an MIT-trained mathematician who spent seven years applying machine learning to high-frequency trading on Wall Street before founding the company. Her thesis is that creators have become commercial operators but often lack the data, automation and advertising support available to large retailers. Markable's platform includes AI collage, AutoDM, smart deep links, storefront sync and link-in-bio tools. The company says it serves top creators, has helped thousands scale revenue, backs creators through a $100 million creator fund and has powered more than $1 billion in creator sales.

For women in startups, the story is useful because it shows a founder building in a category where media, retail, software and finance all overlap. Creator businesses can look lightweight from the outside, but the operating work is complex: content testing, product matching, trust-building, conversion tracking, affiliate economics, returns, paid distribution and platform risk. A creator who depends on manual posting and scattered links is running a fragile business. A creator with tools that connect content, product data and conversion paths has a stronger chance of turning attention into income.

Markable's caution about flashy AI content is also worth noting. The company argues that AI tools should support the behind-the-scenes work of creators by improving hooks, storytelling and backgrounds while preserving the creator's voice. That is a more sustainable position than treating AI as a replacement for trust. Creator commerce depends on audiences believing that recommendations are personal and credible. If AI makes content faster but less believable, the business model weakens.

The new video and 3D product features point to a practical shift in startup tooling. The next wave of commerce software is not just for brands with dedicated marketing departments. It is being built for individuals and small creator-led teams that need to move quickly, test repeatedly and show products clearly. Tang's bet is that the creator economy needs a serious operating layer. If Markable can make that layer reliable, the company sits in a market where small sellers, creators and brands are all looking for the same thing: less friction between audience trust and revenue.
