Hyderabad has put women leaders, educators, entrepreneurs and community figures into the centre of a business-leadership conversation after the Times Power Women Telangana 2026 event used its latest edition to recognise women across sectors and ask what modern leadership should look like.

The event was held at HICC Novotel Convention Centre in Hyderabad and presented by Manepally Jewellers, with support from Brihaspathi Technologies, Sree Dattha Institutions, Pride Motors, Ogha Health and The Reel God. Organised by Optimal Media Solutions, a division of Times Internet, it was positioned as a platform for women whose work spans education, healthcare, enterprise, brand leadership, social impact and community development.

For SheMeansNews readers, the useful point is not simply that another awards night took place. The stronger signal is that women-led achievement is being framed as economic infrastructure — recognising achievement while encouraging future generations to pursue leadership roles with confidence and purpose.

That matters because leadership coverage can easily stay at the level of individual inspiration. The Hyderabad programme gave the issue a more practical frame through a panel discussion on conscious leadership, including leaders such as Sailaja Josyula of Cognizant and Srividya Reddy Gunampalli of Sree Dattha Institutions, focused on empathy, mindfulness, trust, innovation, safe spaces and holistic development as leadership traits rather than soft extras.

Those themes are relevant well beyond the event room. Many workplaces are still trying to reconcile performance pressure with retention, mental load, hybrid work, generational expectations and demands for more inclusive management. A leadership model that values empathy and trust is not sentimental; it is a response to how teams now judge whether a workplace is worth staying in.

Actor and social advocate Bhumi Pednekar felicitated awardees and spoke about creating opportunities for women across different walks of life. Celebrity presence draws attention, but the business value sits in the list of local and sector-specific women whose names become visible to audiences, sponsors, employers and younger professionals.

Recognition programmes should still be read carefully. Awards do not prove that women have equal access to capital, promotion, board seats or ownership. But visibility is part of the market for opportunity. When women leaders in healthcare, education, enterprise and brand-building are named publicly, it becomes harder to treat their contribution as marginal.

The next test is whether that visibility turns into procurement, investment, mentorship, succession planning and more women being trusted with serious operating authority.
